Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one should I choose?
To left I see happiness,
Many colors full of life.
How long it lasts I do not know,
For clouds guard the horizon.
Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one should I choose?
Beyond the clouds a mystery;
A future full of doubt.
What hides behind I do not know
An end unknown waits for me.
Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one should I choose?
Upon the road to the left
Is flowers and chirping birds.
A boy I see tattered and dark,
With a wide eyed smile on his face.
Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one should I choose?
To right I see bumps and patches;
A dark dirt road for some time.
But on the horizon I see trees and birds,
Life full of joy and clear as air.
Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one should I choose?
The dark ground floor stagers me,
The deep blue sky makes me wonder.
How can it be so dark here,
With light hiding just behind?
Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one should I choose?
A pail boy I see,
Sad and mistaken.
He stares at me with eyes so narrow;
A hand out stretched for mine.
Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one should I choose?
Purple mountains stand between the two,
Trapping them in their own little worlds.
Once I start I can’t turn back,
All the more to stay and think.
Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one should I choose?
To take the left uncertainty
Takes me back to ponder.
To right I am quite startled
By the black bird sitting upon a tree.
Two roads to take,
One left one right.
Which one do you think I should take?
