There once was a cow named Paul,
For his life he lived in Gaul,
And every summer he swam to Nepal,
To find his friends,
Who always loved to brawl.
But when Paul was a lad,
He was so very much sad,
Because he couldn’t find his mom nor dad.
But he didn’t give up, he wanted to prevail,
So for the ocean, he set sail.
The waves were crashing down, full of might,
But Paul didn’t even have one fright.
But they got too big, they got too strong,
Because they eventually swept him out of sight.
Paul woke up cold and alone,
And he quickly picked up his Razr cell phone,
He texted his friends as fast as he could,
But alas he had no service,
And said, “Darn, I should get Verizon, yes I should.
Paul walked around in desperate search of water,
And maybe if he finds some, a little bit of fodder.
He felt it was over so he ran, ran, ran,
As he thought, “Game over, game over man!”
But then he heard a noise, a disturbance, a clamor,
So he ran over to see what was the matter.
And then he saw a big blur of brown run,
And he said, “Hey I’m tired, this is no fun!”
He quickly saw what this thing was,
It was two cows covered in brown fuzz.
He looked at the first cow, then the other,
And one of them said, “Paul, I am your mother.”
So Paul was reunited with his parents that he had lost,
But all of this happening had to have cost.
He had to say goodbye to his friends in Gaul,
And they waved as they said, “We’ll miss you Paul!”
So Paul and his family took their great road trip,
Unaware that the road was icy and were going to slip.
But then Paul asked, “Aren’t you gonna pay the toll?”
But his mother just said, “Where we’re going we need no toll, for we are going to the region of coal.
Paul stepped out and saw Mount Carmel and Shamokin,
And he tried to pick up, a little small token.
But then someone screamed, “Hey that’s mine!”
And Paul just said, “Take it, have it, fine!”
But Paul didn’t know what this little meeting would start,
Because soon with his parents, he would have to depart.
From the moment Paul saw her, from her head to her tail,
He would always be friends with this cow, Abigail.
Abigail stared at his eyes, and he stared at hers,
And both standing on ends, were their furs.
But to break the silence, there was Paul’s mother,
Who said, “One of you talk, or something or other!”
Paul and Abigail talked for hours and hours,
While they both thought of themselves dancing in flowers.
But as they talked, their relationship grew,
And eventually they got married and a baby calf was due!
So it just goes to show, believe in what you love,
And never look down, always look above.
Always have fun, it doesn’t matter how,
But if you get angry, don’t have a cow!
So the story ends with a very good twist,
Although our good friend Paul will always be missed.
And the lesson: Never give up for what you believe,
And with that in mind, you’ll always achieve.

- Description: I wrote this poem when I was in sixth grade. I thought it was very creative. And just in case you were wondering, Mount Carmel and Shamokin are small towns in Pennsylvania. I used these towns because I live somewhat near here. But anyway... ENJOY!
