• This is the shoutout
    No one ever gave
    The cry for help
    That sounded too late
    The denial that ended
    Along with their life
    The cry of anger
    That started the fight
    You think we're just complaining
    Bemoaning our life
    Have you seen the news
Do you know what it's like
    The person that's bullied
    They take their own life
    I hear them called cowards
    "Stand up and fight!"
    Is the confident answer
    That you always give
    Let me say something now
    Before you try to forget
    When you're all alone
    When you're in pain
    Suffering and dying
    While outside you're the same
Do you want to go on
Do you want to fight back
Do you want to give in
Take the gun from the rack
    Give the bullet a home
    Right between your eyes
    Take a permanent trip
While you think you can fly
I can tell you see my point
You just don't wanna hear it
Your head's full of cobwebs, I'm gonna clear it
What the news reports makes us sound like statistics
"A kid shot his school up, he went completely ballistic."
    Front page stuff
    No further than the news
    A nice little picture
    The gun that he used
    That's it
    Call it quits
    They never go deeper
They sound so detached, I don't think they care either
    Drunk driving crash
Odds are that we know them
    A cutter with scars
    They're never gonna show em'
    Don't say we're immature
    Don't say we don't know
    Have you ever seen death
Except for on a damn show
    We go through a lot
    Not saying you don't
    Stop force-feeding us 'do, should, won't '
    We understand you love us
    Your intentions are good
    Don't preach to the choir
    Don't title us, understood
This is for the girl who watched her mother O.D.
On a bottle full of pills and glass of Hennessy
For the kid who used to smile
Till his mom and dad divorced
Then took his own life because he'd rather be a corpse
For the girl who ran away because her mom made her sick
Coming home when she wanted, clung to men like a tick
For the kid who had enough and really kept it real
By shooting up and O.D.-ing cause he just couldn't deal
These are the words I'm gonna shout
To the kid who's so messed up
    They only want out
This is for the boy who let himself drown
The day after he saw his friend gunned down
This is the poem that tells you flat out
    We deal with tough things
    We don't cry and pout
We deal how we can, in case you don't know
Sometimes the smiles and laughs are for show
    So stop the assumptions
    The sickening denial
    We all have our issues
    We all have our trials
