I left my heart in Xanadu
But what i saw, it wasn't true
It wasn't me, it wasn't you
But imagination coming true
And what I see
It's not alright
You left me staying up all night
To feel the return of the day's fright
Oh what a day, oh what a night
I left my heart in Xanadu
a perfect lie is me and you
You were a makebeleive feeling through and through
and yet I still call out to you
And what I see
Is a fantasy
And I've been living it for eternity
I'll run away so come find me
Before I reach insanity
I left my heart in Xanadu

Description:
This is a very personal poem. You may not understand it, you may think you do. Just as some backround information, Xanadu was a failed 'futuristic home' experiment/idea. They were open to tour for a while and then every Xanadu in the U.S. was destroyed. The last one to be demolished was in 2005, in Florida near where I live. People stopped beleiving it was a good idea.
