The caged bird sings a mournful trill
Of mem'ries unheard of but longed for still
Of wishes ungranted and never will
And of love forever lost.
Her song echoes but no one hears
She lives entrapped in pain and fear
Awaiting sweet freedom, her eyes well with tears
And the caged bird sings no more.

I absolutely love it.
One thing that's nagging at me, though, is the third line. I understand trying to keep with the flow, but there really should be a word between "ungranted and" and "never will". - Report As Spam
