She Cries

• Description: To my mother for her valiant fight against Breast Cancer.
  
  She was diagnosed with it when I was in Kindergarten. I ended up living with my Aunt while she went through treatment. What I came home to was her screaming in pain from the injections she had to endure after the treatment.
  
  She's alive today, my father passed away in '98 and about a year ago she reconnected with an old boyfriend and has been happy as can be since.

She cried in fear, when he came near.
She knew he never meant to hurt her,
but the needle he held, made her tremble.

He tried to soothe her,
as the needle sank deeper.
Her cries became screams,
as the fluid streams.

Flowing in like red hot lava,
the only thing left to help save her life.

She cries more,
as I run for the door.
No more, no more, no more.
