Shattered

• Description: I wrote this one after one of my boyfriends had broken up with me, I was sorta pissed at him while at the same time being completely and totally self blaming, if that makes any sense. I hope this conveys my feelings correctly.

I hide my face from a shattered youth
Such shattered love
Such shattered truth
Broken beyond my heart's content
Former love turns now to resent

You shattered my heart
A thousand pieces flying apart
As hot tears stream down my face
I hide from you, Fleeing disgrace

Friends you say that's all we can be
But I know the truth, I know why you flee
I resent you for that
Though I shield it with pain
This hate I once felt
Has now turned to shame

So I'll sleep tonight
I'll rest my head
No poisonous thoughts
No dreams for the dead
Do you now see all the feelings I've shed?
