• Watching them grow,
    Seeing her fret,
    Watching him sit & play games

    They're fighting and laughing,
    She's going into stress mode,
    He is going through another beer

    They have know idea,
    She is going to explode,
    He is in another raid

    They play & have another ordinary day,
    She vents to me of the latest bills,
    He yells at her to get a 'real job'

    The kids go to their rooms till he is done,
    She gets emotionally hurt everytime,
    And he is still raging

    I tell them it's okay,
    I tell her to yell at him or leave him,
    I piss him off so he can rage at me

    They know it's normal routine,
    She ignores my advise & vents to me,
    He notices my lack of respect to him

    I tell them I will always be here,
    I tell her she can always count on me,
    I shoulder his burden

    I care for them,
    I'm protective of her,
    I ignore him

    I want to cave, but will not for them,
    I want to cry for her, but will not because I love her,
    I will stand against him for as long as I need to
