    I wonder if we only have one defining moment, like a flash of lightning, or a set path - destiny, like radiant sun breaking through clouds.
    I hear so many hopes, dreams, and plans- of a future I don’t recognize as my own.
    I see people around me rushing headfirst into the sunlight; the future they have completely in their grasp.
    I want to see that light too, but I can’t seem to move away from the past.

    I pretend to know where I’m going, even when I stumble.
    I feel myself falling, but I reach to stay above
    I touch the hearts of people around me, but
    I worry that sometimes it might not always be in a good way
    I cry for things; for people I have failed

    I understand we only live one life
    I say there’s so much to live for, but
    I dream of a day when those words will be true.
    I try my hardest to seem confident or strong, and
    I hope that I have fooled you all.
