• Released

    Freedom,
    it has finally arrived.
    Peace within my soul,
and weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
    My heart beats finally,
as the ice has been melted.
Heat, so hot it coul dburn the skin,
warms my skin, what a delight it is to feel.
    Chains no longer bound me,
no longer eradicate my feelings of hope.

    My voice is my own,
no longer belonging to that who had bound me.
A single tear, one of joy,
    falls to the ground unseen.
I am free, such a hard thing to believe.
My soul can go where it pleases,
and my body roam this earth,
    for I have been released.
