• The Distance

Distance is always further away then you,
It’s always there, beckoning you in,
When you reach it, it’s already gone,
    Stretching out into the horizon,
Into where you can’t reach it.

    When you look at it,
    It lures you in,
    Like you’re under it’s spell,
    When you’re free,
    It uses you,
    And Leaves you dreamless.

You see the beautiful world beyond you,
    Always further than you think,
When you reach out, to grasp it,
It shrinks away, like a dying flower.

    When you dance with it,
    You feel breathless,
    You can draw it,
    Feel like one with it,
But really, it will never be.

The Distance is always further away than you,
Always there, but never with you.
