• Taking wing is her heart
For Zeus fell in love with her
    Up in the heavenly clouds
She was hit by his mighty bolt
    Electrified
    Though mortal and god
Aren’t meant to coexist in that way
    In the flames of heresy
    Judgments made and passed
It’s unholy, unheard of, a sort of treason
Ignorant to the taboo they’re tangled in
    They don’t see the sin
    Of this young kindled romance
Grape vines can’t grow thick enough to
Conceal their own Garden of Eden
    Flavored by his seeds
And her lilac aroma cleans the air
So no one can expose their illegal meetings
By the shadows of the lanterned night
They dream the day when they leave this village
Set on a voyage to their own destination
A private island in the Mediterranean
To not be belittled for their passionate feelings
Sip from this goblet of swirling wine
Lip to lip they have their final living meal
    But they’ll leave together
    Awaiting their loyal nimbus
To float in the turquoise sky and drift away
Away to a heaven they created
    On a sunny Wednesday stroll
