In Flanders Fields
Poppies grow
And even though it's reluctant to show
The violence that took place
And the murderous hell
The poppy kept growing
Blooming perfectly well
Soldiers died in a good place
Looking peaceful as ever
It hides the true nature
Of the hell when it showed.
The bloody war kept going
For years and years
But now we can finally smile with a cheer
We're free forever
And as long as we can
We will wear a poppy
To remember them
The deep red of the poppy
Seems to glow
To show that the blood shed is over
We need no more
So let's take some of our time
Remember them by
They gave us freedom
In Flanders Fields.
