• Death of a Soldier

Gunshots whizzing past me, explosions all around. Anguished cries and stomach churning sites. I see a man, blood seeping through his chest, tears running down his face. He said, "Lord, take my soul, take it in your hands, love me, caress me, take me to your beloved land. But, let me watch over my family, let me see them grow, I will be their guardian, let me be their guide. Now I know where to go, I will no longer cry, I won't ask why, I will see my loved ones again. I'm glad to go to heaven. Please God, take me now, for it is my time to die."
