• Locked in place

Frozen in both metaphorical time and space

To always be known but never remembered

    With forever we are encumbered

Lamenting the faces of those who pass by

In faded memories their image shatters as they die

Trapped within the confines of flesh and bone

We press on through time with tastes of disdain and alone

    When our words resonate

When all they touch they consecrate

When our ideas become more than just script

When they continually poor out from the undead crypt

With vowels and consonants we are sustained

No matter how hard we try, we can not abstain

From the life we have written

With hypothetical venom we have been bitten

On the pages on the walls

    Our whispering caveat inaudibly calls

To warn those who would wish to read

Of the future we have seen and wished to impede

This is the life we must survive in

Foretelling the fights we cannot win

Locked forever in the sepulcher of immortality

We are constrained in everlasting totality
