• She walked along a balance
    Along a skinny little beam
    Praying to stay upright
    Holding on to every dream

Her head was filled with clouds
And no shade could get in
    There was nothing but sunlight
Just sky where she had been

    She skipped along the sidewalk
    Avoiding every crack
    Singing some playground song
    Caring about her mothers back

It seemed as though it'd never end
    That she would never age
That the world wouldn't go cold
That no one would turn the page

    She fell between the cracks
But she didnt lose her way
She follwed from below the earth
    Cursing her fall each day

She was pushed over the edge
    Pulled to perfection
And in the matter of sanity
    The voices won the election

Those above looked down in scorn
    Telling of her descent
Of how that age is so trying
Oh how she was once Heaven sent

    And dispite all the precautions
    All the structure and rules
    She never grew up
    She never became like you

Instead she made her own way
When she fell between the cracks
Now she can always see the sky
Where she's fallen on her back
