I remember when
The snow was five inches
And I was only four.
Daddy said I was too little,
To play out in the snow.
I was only four foot three
The snow was so much taller
Than me.
I watched from my
Pretty pink room
As the Christmas lights flickered on
And the icicles doubled the light,
Making the yard glow with
Reds, yellows and greens.
Daddy came in, holding a book.
“Santa will be here soon,
You need to go to sleep.”
I looked up at him, my princess nightgown
Falling to my knees as I stood to plead.
“No, now get in bed I’ll read to you.”
I obeyed, climbing on to my bed.
My quilt draped over me as he read.
I dreamed of the presents,
Sitting under the tree.
Waiting to be torn open and
Be loved on.
That was the last day
I ever saw my daddy.

- i agree that it's vauge but i think that since the poem doesn't tell the reader what happened, they can guess for themselves. very well done. bravidisimo! 5/5!
