Nightmare

• Description: We had to write a poem in American Lit, so I did this. We were doing the Romantica Era in writing. [[Poetry, short-stories. ect.]] Everyone really liked it, my dad loved it, which he never liked an of my writing. So I decided to share it with you guys. <3

Laying in the darkness
I reach my tiny hands out
Where are you...?

I call your name
And yet no word
Have you left...?

Sitting here alone
My thoughts begin to wonder
You have left me...

My body runs ice cold
I feel piercing numbing
The pain and memories of you once
Being here floods into my unconscious mind

I wake up
My eyes wild with fright dart around
My eyes then rest upon you...

The one I call
The one I love
Was right there...

You whisper in a soothing voice
That calms every nerve in my numbing soul
"It was just a nightmare."
