• Cool and still, a sparkling sky of light
    Against an endless blanket of coal smudge,
    An unclear vision comes before my sight.
    I dared not try to open my eyes or budge.

    Dreaming sweet dreams of sugar goodies abound,
    Pies and cakes and pudding span out for miles
    In the country of candy children are around,
    As the Three o’clock Fairy watches with a smile.

    A blinding light broke through my joyous time,
    Taking back the secrets of my childish mind.
    Some accept this for they’ve reached their prime;
    But deep in my mind I want them confined-

    So once again I may board that named ship
    That will take me to where my dreams lay hid.
