As I returned, your face lit up.
It made me smile, until I looked up.
There I saw was the woman I once loved.
And in her stare, the man she had lost.
She was glad to see me, but not only that.
She had all the excuses, that cut me just like that.
When I asked to speak with her alone, her only answer.
Was leave me alone.
She did not mean it apparently,
For she was still wondering.
She didn't know what she thought,
But as she did, he tried to help her out.
One day, as he went back to see.
Her face was dark, and lean.
She didn't want to accept the fact she couldn't have him,
For her friends wouldn't allow it.
She would say she didn't, trying to forget it all.
Little did she know, she was admitting it all.
As he stood there, explaining and questioning,
She would answer her thoughts.
The ones she sought.
As she thought of what she said,
The man could only stand for a answer.
She said she'd rather stop, and think about it later,
But the man said she should stop, and answer it now.
She refused to do so, and he agreed.
He let her go free, and she left him alone.
Now that the question is out,
They both want to know.
What will the answer become of though?
