Siblings.
Not by blood but of the heart, we
Will never ever grow apart. You’re always
There when I’m in need. You always know
Just how to please. You say such words that
Always trail. Dear God, I hope I do not fail. Your
Guidance so strong and sure, you are my angel
Kind and pure. Stay by my side so you can see
The person you have helped make me. In time,
When the world begins to spin, just hold on.
I’ll be there for you, like the wind.

Siblings is such a powerful topic for any poem, I think. They can be there for you, there to get you, or absent completely. I have had a lot of conflicts with my siblings; nothing trivial and mindlessly dramatic, but serious stuff going down in a tangled year of my life that just keeps on getting more knotted. To see this poem about siblings... really touched me. It's great. There's rhythm, rhyme (helpful), emotion, and most importantly: power. 5 out of 5.
