I saw a dove today, a humble shade of grey.
It sat on a wire with four others of its kind.
Although they all sat together, it sat further away
As if they were free, and it were caught in a bind.
The lonesome dove left the pairs to their seat
As it went home to its cold and empty nest.
Hopefully a nice white dove it would meet
So it could pair alongside the rest.
I left the birds to their own lives
As I walk back to my lonely home.
A thought into my idle mind did dive,
What if, like the dove, I am meant to be alone?

- Description: Just something I wrote late one night. Not too impressive. It could be much better, but I don't feel like working on it.
