• An uttered curse
    a whispered breath breaks
    the stone cold silence
    between you and me.

    The distance,
    not so far,
    two feet perhaps or
    a little more.
    Feels like miles.
A days journey through bitter snow,
to feel your skin against my own.

    Sigh,
    breath.
    The most difficult thing,
    I have had to say.
    Should i leave now,
    this second,
    this way?

The breathless night leaves no terror
    untouched.
    No dream unrecalled,
    unloved.

    Kestrel hanging in the air,
    a smile on parched,
    tear cracked lips.
    Wings beat the updraft.
    it soars.
    flys.

    Rising onward to new heights,
    into the heavens.
    As we shall,
    I promise this.
    Not buried in the earth,
    a marker for a lost
    state of being.

    But soaring.
    We have seen the depths,
    now we feel the heavans.
