• Affliction

Drops of frozen ice stung my nose,
But only when my cheeks froze,
Did I realize I was crying.
    Ice so crisp that
    My tears were already drying.
    An empty hollowness coiled inside,
Affliction so vast, as if nationwide,
    Tremendous waves flung me over,
I was the terrain for a hefty land-rover.
Completely fed up with the relentless old game,
The affliction in life is the object to blame,
    Continues forever, an ongoing flame.
For now I pretend, wanting to end,
Feeling the last speck of it
    Erode away,
    I no longer have a
    reason to stay.
