• Alive in your heart

    Why is death,
    Always such a surprise,
    We know that it's coming,
    Soul gone, empty eyes.
We cry cos' they've left us,
    We cry it's unfair,
    We cry for not knowing,
    When we'll end up there.
    We're Mopey and Dopey,
    And other sad dwarves,
But we have to get going,
    Life goes on of course.
    No one holds the press,
    Cos' your loved one died,
    No country in mourning,
    Just you dewy eyed.
    The world keeps on turning,
    Another child is born,
    No one else acknowledging,
The hole in life that's been torn.
    You want people to cry,
    To grieve, same as you,
    Cos' suffering alone,
    It tears you in two.
    The pain recedes slowly,
    You try to move on,
And accept that your loved one,
    Is forever gone.
But you must know this cliche,
    I know it's cheesy, don't start,
They'll live on in you memory,
    Alive in your heart.
