We walk hand in hand,
The snow glimmering beneath the streetlights.
I gaze towards the night sky,
The moon covered by the dark clouds.
Not a star to be seen,
But I find myself still searching for one star.
The star I can make my wish upon,
And pray it will come true.
I lift my face to the cool breeze,
And breathe in deeply.
The wind is so refreshing,
It feels so clean.
You place your arm around my shoulder,
And I no longer feel the cold.
We begin to drift among the snowflakes,
Our eyes filled with excitement.
The snow starts to fall more densely,
As we disappear into a white wall.
For that instant,
We are nothing but alone.
We cannot be seen by anyone,
We are but of the wind.
A place that beholds only truth,
Not a single lie is present.
Our spirits are released,
And they begin to linger into the cold air.
Not drifting far from our lifeless bodies,
They start to draw closer to one another.
And stay together,
Intermingly with eachother as if to become one.
The co-existence of these spirits,
Create the most vibrant of colours.
In that one instant,
We can see the bond that has grown so strongly between us.
A bond that will continue to grow,
As long as our colours never fade.
The snow starts to clear away,
And our souls rush to find their way to our bodies.
But as they break away from eachother,
Fragments of my soul leaves a residue attached to yours.
When I can feel the warmth of my spirit,
An unfamiliar presence begins to arise.
First, I thought peculiar,
But soon understood.
Fragments of your soul,
Find themselves attached to mine.
You have become a permanent part of me,
And I will never let you go.
My eyes will always glimmer to a starlit sky,
But to you they will shine.
For you are that star,
The one I always search to wish on.
And I will wish upon you,
The same thing I wish every night,
For this to never end.
