Dark Encounter
Barely a few hours into his travels and Ingram had already found trouble. A group of brigands had seen his rare dagger and decided that he had to have other treasures that they could "liberate" for themselves and so they pursuit him now along the road following close behind on horseback. Ingram had cut across a field to help him gain distance but found that they were once again gaining. Ingram's legs pumped furiously propelling him forward with tremendous speed and force and his cloak flapped violently in the wind, one of the brigands was close behind sword pointed towards his mark with a quick twist of the wrist the blade slashed at Ingram, Ingram pivoted on his right leg sending him farther left and away from the strike. A second brigand came in from the right ready to pierce Ingram with his spear to this the assassin reacted with a quick jump back to dodge followed by a powerful lunging thrust from below sending himself and his dagger upwards into the rider. The dagger pierced flesh as Ingram grabbed hold of the reins from the still galloping horse, the first rider was already coming back swinging, Ingram pulled the reins hard left using the momentum to help him launch the now lifeless body of his foe off the horse and to seat himself in the saddle. The body flew in front of the brigands horse causing it to stop suddenly and send it's unprepared rider headfirst and forward to the ground, as he arose to the sight of his fallen comrade lying limp he felt a cold chill as something wet dripped down his back the deep gash going from shoulder to shoulder and clear through bone and cartilage. Two more riders had witnessed the exchange between their comrades and the cloaked stranger and were closing in quick , Ingram had already noticed the two men and was galloping towards them his arms outstretched showing off his two weapons this along with his cape flowing behing him made him seem so much larger and threatining than before his eyes set in a deadly glare striking the two men making them almost stop in their tracks. In an instance Ingram had twisted and twirled his blades in a flurry of slashes and short thrusts leaving the two men heavily injured but alive. One man tried to turn around quickly and catch Ingram off guard but instead caught a solid sword strike across the throat, the second man felt the talon like grip of Ingram on his shirt collar and was tossed clear of his horse to the dirt. Ingram dismounted and in three steps had closed the distance his thumb dug into the man's esophagus "Why did you attack me and be quick about it before I decide that a merciful death is to good for you". The man looked into Ingram's eyes and so only death cold, dark, and absolute "W...w..w.we.." Ingram tightened his grip in the man's neck "stop your idiotic blubbering and answer me" the man allowed himself a breath of air which came difficult with the assassins claws crushing his windpipe"We thought that your dagger might fetch a few gold pieces at market" letting his grip go ever so slightly "where and to whom were you going to sell it to" " A merchant in Red Mane calls himself Lord sin" "Lord ?" the man understanding Ingram's questioning glance"He's and old smuggler ,used to be part of a big gang" " "What else?"
"that's all I know please don't hurt me" Ingram's smile was hardly comforting as it seemed unnatural somehow, the same dagger which had caused the brigands to make such a mistake as challenging Ingram Alexander flashed into view "this dagger is of dark elven make enchanted with a very interesting spell" A hand shot up to the man's mouth followed almost instantly by the dagger sliding in between his ribs and into his heart" The man meant to scream but as soon as the blade entered he felt numb, he could only feel the magic of the dagger flow through his veins paralyzing him. "There you go no pain at all" Ingram jumped onto his newly acquired mount and rode off looking back to see if any one might have seen his little encounter but spotted no one but bodies and the horrified look on one man's face frozen for the few remaining hours of his life as he contemplated his mistake and now truly regretted it more than anything.
Ingram contemplated his luck in already finding a starting point in his investigation, He would interrogate this...Lord sin or he would bleed him dry in the process. Ingram knew that Lord sin would be of no use to him dead and he would much rather prefer to leave him alive but he also knew that men had to be careful what questions they asked in a city of soldiers, politicians, and thieves.,,
