So, I was in Brussels ... in case you didn't know.

Imaging Rural Identities In An Enlarged Europe ... *takes a deep breath* Try saying that 5 times really fast.

But Brussels. Well it's in Belgium in the EU. We were over there for the above title, the imaging thing. A group of 13 girls form the place I'm from (incl. me) took photos and made two documentaries and two dramas over the course of two summers. We went out to present our work to IRD and the other countries taking part, (Italy, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, West Clare and Banteer) the last 2 are from Ireland as well.

We had really good craic ... but I did eventually find my friends insufferable. Things are a little tense at the moment ... but besides that.

We got to see the EU parliament in Brussels, no Strasbourg for us, and we were taken around by an *MEP's PA. Brian Crowley, he's the MEP for `Munster. Well it was his PA.

The food, I'm sorry, it was God awful! The sweet pastries were lovely but everything else looked like it had been hocked up by a sick sheep. We ended up getting an Italian dish at dinner (Thank God for Spaghetti Bolognese!)

Erm, what else? ... Our presentation went as well as expected ... we never actually got to show our photos coz the 6th years didn't let us. Mean!
