• I asked my father this Christmas
    "Do you need help with the light?"
    He answered back sadly
    "I’m not sure I need your help tonight."

    So I waited until Christmas Eve
    Waited to hang up those lights
    And yet there was nothing to put
    Up our staircase flight

    Just when I thought I couldn’t put them up
    My father walked in with candles
    I asked him “what’s with the candles"
    He said “I need help with the lights"

    That’s how I spent Christmas Eve
    Never giving up with the lights
    Because I learned something special that day
    Never give up the day before Christmas night
