• During the day the sandman sleeps

    But come nighthe slowly creeps

In your room and over your eyes

    He hides a little surprise

    A special dust

That when he thrustshas you counting sheep

The sandman is a mischievous old gruntHe puts you to sleep and steals your dreams

After he gets yours,He continues his hunt

From house to house and from person to pet

His appetite for dreams is never well fed

But luckily when up comes the sun

The sandman stops his nightly run

And settles into his own bed

But in place of his own, he dreams your dreams instead.
