-
We smash ice
in the woods
at the end of the block.
Wild things
stomping our feet
on the frozen surface
till it cracks.
Your laughter echoes
around dead tree branches
and muddy ground.
I tug my gloves onto
your little boy hands
plunge my own deep into
the pockets of my coat.
Red cheeked and sparkle eyed
you are the gift
that Christmas gives...

- Wow, that is really great! It made me tear up - it's such a mom thing, giving gloves to your kid. Just beautiful.
