- Title: The Burning Monk
- Artist: phydeoux
- Description: On June 11, 1963, Thich Quang Duc, a Buddhist monk in Vietnam, burned himself to death in the middle of downtown Saigon. He assumed the traditional lotus position as his fellow monks poured gasoline over him. He used a match to ignite himself and burned to death. David Halberstam, a reporter for the New York Times stated that he never moved a muscle, or made a sound as he engulfed himself in flames. Thich Quang Duc's remains were later cremated and legend has it that his heart would not burn.

- Wow, I never knew about this... do you know why he did it? It must have had something to do with the Chinese invading Buddhist temples during that time and forcing them to stop all practice of their religion. Many Buddhists left for India, and then returned after many years.
