• Chapter 3

I still couldn't believe what I'd done! I had betrayed Jason's trust to go out with a guy I didn't even know anything about. But yet, I felt excited as I put on my swim suit. Maybe Chase was a blonde version of Jason. You never know.

Then the phone rang, since I was home alone I went to see who it was. The caller ID said, 'Jason heart .' My heart raced a mile a minute. I picked it up and nervously squeaked out, "Hello."
"Hi. Ari I haven't stopped thinking about you." he said. His voice was so sweet and he sounded very sincere.
    "Yea, me too." I lied.
"So do you like California?" he asked.
"Yea. It's cool. But I do honestly miss you." I said. This was the truth.
"You sound so distracted, is something wrong?" he asked.
"No, I mean, I'm going for a walk on the beach tonight with my parents." UGH! I thought, I'm SOOO not good at lying. I feel SO guilty.
As I waited for his responce I paced back and forth around the kitchen floor.
"So, I'll call you later if your busy." he finally said, he sounded very disapointed.
"I'm sorry." I said. Why does lying have to be SO hard!
"No, really it's ok." he answered. But there was sadness in his voice.
    "Alright." I started, "Jason,"
    "Yes?" he asked hopefully.
"I do really miss you." I answered.
"I miss you to. But I want you to know that no matter what you do, I'll always love you."
At these words, my eyes welled up with tears and the guilt started to eat me alive.
"Thanks, I'll always love you too. No I have to go. The beach awaits." I said some what laughing.
    "Alright baby, have fun."

I hung up and sat on the kitchen stool for a while. After about 10 minutes or so I got up to meet Chase at the beach.

"Hey baby! What took you so long? Busy with another guy." he laughed.
I bit my lip and did a little fake laugh. "No." I answered shortly.
"Hey, I didn't mean to offend you, come and sit." Chase said motioning me to sit with him.
"The beach is beautiful tonight." I said starring at the waves and sunset.
"So are you." he said putting his arm around me.
I giggled a little, "Thanks for taking me here."
"Oh and after we can go back to my place, my parents aren't home so...." he started.
I moved away and started to get uncomforitable.
    "I'm sorry but I can't come." I said.
"Well, your parents will never know." he said trying to pin me down and kiss me.

Then I jumped to my feet.
"Your a real jerk!" I said. "I can't believe you'd actaully even THINK of doing that! I've only just met you!"
    He looked rather scared.
"Baby! Don't you love me!" he said flipping his hair out of his eyes.
"NO! I don't, and I'm leaving!" I said getting my things ans standing up.
"Don't go! I need you." he said, but his voice was totally fake.
"Whatever! Don't bother talking to me anymore!" I said kicking sand in his face and running as fast as I could to my house.

When I came in my mom and dad were sitting in the family room. I ran over to them and told them what I'd done.
"Sweetie, I think you should tell Jason the truth." my mom said.
"But he'll never belive that I didn't do anything with him.
    "He might." said a voice.
I turned around and Jason was standing there. His eyes looked sad and his figure was broken. His hair was a mess and wasn't the perfect man I saw at my old school.
"I told you I would keep my promise and here I am." he said.
    I started to cry.
"I still can't believe you." he said shaking his head.
"You were all I ever wanted." I answered with tears in my eyes.
"I don't know if I belive you." he said.
