• Day light, it shines through the aspen trees creating a simple shadow. The speckles of sunlight dance along the ground like little diamonds just waiting for a passerby to pick them up. Suddenly the diamonds go red, crimson red.
    The girl falls to her knees coughing like the demon, her blood soaked body staining the grassy carpet beneath her making it appear like a Christmas decoration. She closes her eye for just a moment, the moment before the very thing she was running from caught up to her. The very thing she fought so hard to avoid. Her own death. All goes silently cold, a light thump is heard like an echo, then the forest slowly goes back to normal. That is it goes back to normal for every thing except for the girl, for her nothing would be normal again.
    The corpse lay there, not breathing, unmoving, though something about this death didn’t seem right. It was like she was still there, alive, but it was as clear as day her dead body was laying there in front of the old oak. It wasn’t till a while had passed that a young wanderer had finally found the poor child’s body.
