• It was another boring day at school for Alex Hails. He was utterly bored in his third block class until the new girl, Fallen Chance, came to class. Alex had wavey pale blonde hair that was around three inches long. He was tall and slender. He was a nice guy but can have his bad days. His skin was soft, extreamly pale, and colder than ice. His eye color was a beautiful jade rimmed with gold around the pupils but can turn dark blue at times.

Fallen on the other hand, had black hair to her knees. She had the same strange jade gold rimmed eyes. She was of average height and also slender. her skin was normal looking but she was slightly pale. She is a sweet girl but can have her moods.

Fallen walked into her third block class with Alex. The only seat that was left was next to Alex. After seeing him she happily took the only seat. She quickly introduced herself. "Hello, I'm Fallen Chance. May I ask who you are?"

Alex looked at Fallen and smiled at her, "Hello, Fallen. I'm Alex Hails." He said not looking away from her until the teacher called his name and he had the wrong answer. He then decided to pay attention. Fallen looked away as well and started taking the notes the were on the board.

At lunch Alex offered Fallen to sit with him and his sister. Fallen gladly
accepted his offer. Alex’s sister, Siya, had the same eyes with the same eyes with the same switching dark blue. She was shorter than Fallen by a good five inches and slender. She had black hair to her waist. Her skin was the same as Alex’s. She then greeted Alex. “Hey Alex, Who is this?” She said motioning to Fallen.

“This is Fallen, Fallen Siya.” He said as he introduced them. “It’s nice to meet you, Siya.” Fallen said sweetly to her. “It is nice to meet you as well Fallen.”

After lunch Fallen and Siya had the same class, so they walked together and the last seat was for Fallen and it was next to a cute boy name Jake. Jake had black hair to his shoulders and he was taller than Alex. He was slender and according to all the girls the nicest guy on campus. His skin was light tan and softer than soft. His eyes were a reddish color but are mainly black.

Jake greeted Fallen first, “Hello, My name is Jake Lore. Who are you?” He asked her his voice rather soothing to her. “My name is Fallen Chance. It’s nice to meet you.” Fallen said to him.

“So you’re new here?” He asked “Yes, I live with my mom the doctor” Fallen said a little too harshly about her mom. “A little sensitive to that subject are we?” Jake asked. “Yes, sorry.” Fallen said her face and eyes apologetic.

As that class ended Fallen had one more class with Jake. Language Arts, Fallen smiled at this trivial knowledge. She smiled all the time they walked in silence.

Finally Jake broke the silence. “What is so amusing?” he asked her. She responded and her smiled vanished “Nothing at all.” The truth was she liked him but she wasn’t about to tell him that she did.

They reached class but she wasn’t able to sit next to him here. She sat in the middle of the room, her heart felt like she was going to leap out of her chest because she was so nervous as everyone stared at her. She felt very awkward and out of place here.

Fallen was relived and sad to see the long, dreary, bleak school day end. Sad because she would have to wait to see Jake again. Relived because she would soon be free of all the curious eyes boring into her skin.

Once she had gotten into her 2002 Dodge Ram she sighed and turned on the engine and was about to pull out when Jake, Alex and his sister Siya knocked on the windows. She jumped and rolled down the windows. “What do you need?” All three of them responded at the same time, “A ride.” Fallen sighed “Figures” she mumbles.

Fallen motions for them all to get in. She drove in silence afraid of what might slip out. She then turned into the Hails’s drive way and dropped them off. She then drove Jake to her own house because they were going to study together. Her mother was home early and was happy to see that Fallen made a new friend.

Fallen smiled and sat on the floor books spewed everywhere around Jake and her. Jake then asked Fallen a question, “Fallen….” He paused “Would you consider…. going to homecoming with me?” Fallen looked up at him shocked “Umm… Yeah sure I’ll go with you.” She said more excited now. They now talked more freely about trivial things like school, work, and well of course homework.

Finally, Jake got off the floor and decided to leave he said his departing words to Fallen and walked across the street to his house. Fallen squealed with delight, the guy she liked just asked her to homecoming. “W-O-W!” she said to herself.

Fallen’s mother, Claire, entered the room. “Why are you so happy?” she asked skeptical of her daughter’s behaviors. “I got asked to homecoming by Jake!” Fallen squealed again. Her mother covered her ears and said “Okay.” And exited the room. Fallen thought ‘Man she can never be properly happy at the right moment.’ Fallen saw through her mother’s phoniness and decided that way deep down she was happy too.Fallen went to her room and finished her homework. She laughed gleefully until she fell asleep.

Fallen woke up the next morning reenergized and happy as a clam. She dressed quickly and brushed her hair she hurried down stairs as she ate breakfast her mom asked “Why so excited to get out of here?” Fallen smiled and said “It’s a new day I’m not going to be brought down.”

Fallen arrived at school a half hour early. She decided to go to the lunch room and review her homework that she had done the night before. Just then Jake arrived like almost literally out of nowhere. Fallen walked to him “Hey Jake.” Fallen smiled “Hey Fallen.” Jake said in return.

Fallen smiled warmly at him just then Alex and Siya came in the doors, Alex heading straight for Fallen. Alex had a question for Fallen. He walked up to her and looked her in the eyes with a look of great adoration “Fallen, will you go to the dance with me?” Alex asked his eyes and face hopeful.

Fallen looked up at Jake. “Umm… Alex… I kind of… already said yes to
Jake…” Fallen and smiled then bit her lower lip. Jake smiled fondly at
Fallen. Fallen looked helplessly at Siya, and Alex looked at Fallen his face torn and distraught. “That’s fine.” He said calmly, but Fallen could see through his act.

At lunch Fallen avoided Alex but he was always there looking at her
sweetly but then his eyes would flash to Jake and his stare turned murderous. Fallen tried to ignore him but it was hard when Jake brought up the subject several times and once Fallen commented “He doesn’t like you much huh?” “No.” Jake said coldly. “Wonder why.” “No clue.” Jake shrugged and shook off the subject, but he was worried that Fallen would find out his secret.
