• Silence. Dead silence. The tiny pink haired girl opens the doors of her hiding place and finds herself staring at a dark haired young man with peircing yellow eyes glaring back at her.
"I must be loosing my touch if I missed you." He said and raised his sword to strike when....
    "AHHHHHHH!"
"Angelica what's wrong?" Alyssa was the first to race into the girl's room. Angelica was sobbing, hiding her face under her arms. Alyssa was knocked to the side by a silver blur that raced across the floor and lept up on the girl's bed. A small silver haired boy hugged her tightly.
"He won't get you." The boy promised quickly. Alyssa sighed and leaned against the wall. That boy always knew what was wrong with Angelica. Or maybe it was just obvious to him, after all, he's been by her side since her family was murdered by the man named Axel.
"He won't rest till I'm dead." Angelica wailed. The boy jerked away from her, her shriek hurt his ears. The boy suddenly wiped around and glared at Alyssa.
"Whoa, Danny, cool it. What did I do?" Alyssa asked.
"Find him! Find Damien's henchmen named Axel!" Danny demanded. Alyssa rushed out of the room to dodge a darkness blast that melted half way through the stone wall of Angelica's room.
"Don't take your hissy fit out on me!" Alyssa snapped. The group of teenagers that Alyssa lived with were standing against the wall in the hallway.
"Well, what's wrong with the human child this time?" Apeku asked.
"Apparently another nightmare about her family's slaughter." Alyssa shrugged. "But don't ask me, Danny's the one that always knows."
"Because Danny's breed can read thoughts and feelings..." Charity stated.
"Danny isn't old enough to do that." Everyone jumped at the sound of the drowsy werewolf, Anna.
    "How do you know?"
"Unlike most demons who gain power and other abilities through hard training and experience... Danny's breed get their powers and stuff according by age, physical build and how well they control their emotions around others."
"Well no wonder he's still weaker than most demons his age." Charity whispered as she peeked in Angelica's room to see him.
"That also explains why every Shadow demon I've seen are so.... emotionless?..." Kane said, trying to find a good word to describe them.
"They just don't express emotions like we do, they still have them and express emotions in other ways." Ian said hugging Anna from behind and resting his head on her shoulder.
"Like Terra and Apeku do with art." Alyssa blurted. Everyone stared at Apeku.
"You were in my room again weren't you!?"
"Of course, like you were going to tell me you were just as a good of artist as your sister?"
"I didn't even know that." Terra smirked. Apeku sat against the wall and fumed. Alyssa couldn't help but giggle.

Danny sat next to Angelica till she back to sleep. His only friend suffered the same nightmare for almost three months. If the teenagers outside weren't going to find that man, then he would. 'Danny! You better come home!' His father's voice rang in his thoughts. Danny cringed, he didn't want to. Danny feared his father greatly. 'NOW!' Danny flinched. He gently shook Angelica. Her eyes snapped open and she looked up at Danny.
"You're father?" She asked, seeing how horrified Danny looked.
"I'll be back though, I don't know when, but I promise I'll at least visit every now and then." Danny shook. "Promise you won't forget me if I don't come back for a while."
"I couldn't forget you Danny. You're my best friend." Angelica was confused. Danny hugged her and ran through a shadow on the wall and disappeared. Angelica laid awake, listening to the now fighting teenagers in the hallway. She missed her family, her mom, her hard working dad, and of course her super hero big brother. Tears poured from her eyes, soaking her pillow, but she eventually fell asleep.

A couple weeks went by and there was no sign of Danny. Angelica knew that Danny's father hated him. Danny was too gentle of a boy to do anything remotely close to what his father does, and his father heated that. She was afraid that maybe Danny wouldn't come back... that maybe he was killed, or he was being tortured, maybe forced to train in killing innocent people. Angelica violently shook her head to stop the horrible thoughts.
Weeks turned to months then months to years. Angelica was now fourteen, and no longer the six year old girl with the haunting nightmares. She was sitting on the beach watching the waves soak her feet and draw back only to come back and soak her feet again. So much had happened in those eight years. The man that killed her family, Axel, was now her father. It was an apology. So now he takes care of her, and does better than anyone thought he could.
Alyssa was poisoned, Anna was slain, Ian went insane, Apeku's also insane, Terra got married to Alyssa's older brother Reno and now has two kids. Charity went back to her home land with Kane. Somewhere between Ian going insane and the wedding Angelica was kidnapped and brainwashed... then somewhere between the kidnapping and Charity leaving, she regained most of her memory, but her memory of her six year old self is still a blur. So much, so much, She thought shaking her head.
Angelica stared out at the sunrise wishing she knew what important thing she promised. 'Promise you won't forget me if I don't come back for a while.' A child's voice echoed in her thoughts. She sat up and pondered on that. It sounded so familiar but she couldn't figure out who it was.

Standing against the city wall staring at the dot on the beach was a silver haired, fifteen year old boy. His father's accomplice stood next to him.
"See? She doesn't remember. If she did we would have gotten a greater response." He said. The young teen just snarled at him. "Watch your temper or you'll be in a world of hurt." The demon snickered.
"She didn't forget me. She said she couldn't."
"Well she obviously did. You should let it go and forget her, just like she has forgotten you."
    "I can't."
    "You have to."
    "I won't."
    "You will!..."
"Tell me where have you been? Danny boy, Danny boy. Tell me where have you been? Charming Danny." A pale demonic girl sang and skipped to the boy's side. "There you are Danny boy." She teased and painfully pinched his cheek.
"Ow, you minature hag, let go!" Danny hissed and jerked away from her.
"My my what a short fuse you have. Uncle said to punish you if you revealed an emotion."
"That's only if it gets out of hand." Danny growled.
    "It's getting there."
    "Shut-up Nancy."
"You're not the boss of me Danny.XP Did you forget? I'm physically younger but I'm almost as old as my brother... and he's a good six hundred years older than your daddy."
Danny clenched his fist and bit his lip so hard it began to bleed. "You need to shut-up before I do it for you." The demon started to laugh.
"I'd love to see you try, your training is still far from over... and Uncle says it's time to come home..." Nancy was interupted.
"You can tell father to..." Danny bit his tongue, not wanting to finish that sentence unless he was certain he wanted to die.
    "Tell him what?"
"Nothing. I'm going." Danny sighed and slipped into the shadows with Nancy and the demon male.
