• Chapter 2
“Elder! Tell me more!” Noman shouting as he ran through the door.

Vina and Peter came crashing behind him.

“Noman,” the Elder asked in a serious tone, “Are you willing to hear the truth? And if you are, are you willing to take this perilous journey set before you?”

    Noman paused for a second.

“I must know the truth, Elder.” he replied

    “Very well.”

“My real name is Xen, but this village does not know that name. Noman, ever since that prophecy was made, my family has been the only people who remembered it and the history around it. We have been leading Pequeño all our lives; knowing a Huvan would be born among us. Ever since you were born, I have been keeping that place sacred so that way no one would try killing you with this information. I told your parents that you were the chosen one, but they went against me and rejected your set future. Do you understand why your parents didn’t want you to see what’s there?”

“You... you knew all along?” Peter asked

“Sadly, yes. Because you are the only Huvan in existence, you have been chosen by Spirea.”

“But... how do you know that there aren’t other Huvans among Glawdor?”

    “Your knife chose you.”

“Did you know that it can sense a Huvan? My father the last to enter the Sanctuary before it was completely sealed. The elves that created the Sanctuary told me that the knife will chose the only Huvan alive when that day comes. Ask it yourself.”

Noman looked at his new knife.

“Spirea, is what he says true?”

Yes. I have looked all along Glawdor with my powers to search for a Huvan everyday, and you are the only one.

    Noman turned back to Xen.

“See what I mean? My family is the only other people that can hear its voice besides you, because we became Guardians of the knife, Spirea, and the chosen one. When that door was sealed by my family, most of the history that was written behind its walls was almost instantly forgotten. Us Guardians wanted to make sure the succession of our new hero and destroyer of the prophecy would be safe from harm.”

“So you mean you erased the bravery of the two heroes from every mind of Glawdor?” Vina asked

“No; the prophecy that was made, the Dragoon King’s location, Spirea, and the Dragon Spheres were the only things forgotten. Everything else the world was allowed to remember. But people stopped telling the story, so the history of what they were allowed to remember became lost too. Our family did not erase that part of history from the minds of this world.”

“So Noman, what is your decision? Will you fight for this world, or will you let this world fall to Aavair?”

“HEY!” Peter objected, “YOU CAN’T HOUND HIM WITH THAT BIG OF A RESPONSIBILITY ALL BY HIMSELF!”

“And he won’t have to either.” came a voice from behind

    “Dad! Mom!” Noman shouted

“Gavin, you must let him decide. This doesn’t concern you.” Xen exclaimed to him

    Tara, Noman’s mother, began speaking.

“We decided that our son would not take on this responsibility. He’s only seventeen, after all. He’s too young.”

“No; I will take on this responsibility. I’m sick and tired of everyone telling me that I’m no good in this world. Well, now I really am. I want to help it in every way I can, even if I’m alone.”

“Noman, we’re going home. Vina, Peter; you’re leaving too.” Gavin ordered, “Old man, I won’t let my kid think this foolery. You are not allowed near my son again.”

Gavin, Tara, Vina, and Peter left.

“Noman, you should leave too. You don’t want your dad mad at you.”

“I refuse to listen if there is a way to help. Xen, I’m leaving tonight. Where should I head off to?”

“To the Elvin capital, Ichitomi. There is an ally there that can help you on your mission. She is my granddaughter; also a Guardian of the hero. She maybe of help.”

    “What is her name?”

“Decilia. Her parents were angry to know that the Huvan was born, so they left to the Elvin capital to forget about their duties.”

“Thank you. You’ve always been kind to me.”

“Come here when your parents are asleep. I will help you get ready to leave.”

    “Yes sir.”
