• “Ugh, I can’t believe I transformed into a monster again. A blood sucking, brainless monster.” Said Kaleb as he went headed home, leaving the little boy he just killed on the street in a bloody puddle. As he walked toward downtown, he bumped into a businessman. His eyes flashed red and he killed him on the spot using his claws and fangs at high speed. In about a minute his eyes turned back to a beautiful, golden color. As he opened the door to his house, it creaked and opened all the way. Kaleb walked down the dark hallway, lit up by candles and went strait to his room. He locked his door, and lied in bed staring at the moon outside. “Well that’s one thing that hasn’t changed over the past 326 years I’ve been a… vampire. The moon is still beautiful, and it still makes you feel lonely.” He sighed, and turned his gaze to his bookshelf. He reached out for “Romeo and Juliet”.
“Funny how I never get tired of this book.” He murmured to himself, turning the pages. Kaleb stared at the pictures for some time and let out another sigh of depression. “Dinner time” he said, jumping out his window. As a girl walked down a dark path he met her eyes and stared at her for a moment. Then blinked. He appeared behind her. “Are you lost?” He asked her in a worried tone. There were other vampires who would dare to feast on her. This girl was special to him for unknown reasons. It was a feeling he has never felt before. “Yeah, kind of. I can’t figure out how to get to 11th street” She answered in a small, trembling voice. “You must be cold” he said giving her his black coat. She blushed lightly looking down at the ground “Uh, thanks”. He looked away “Sure, no problem… so where were you heading to?”
    “A friend’s house”
“Want me to walk you there?”
“Really? People in Maine are so nice!”
Kaleb laughed softly. “Yeah”. For a second his turned into a bloody shade of red, but they turned back to his gentle, golden eyes. Oh no, he thought. He yelped a cry of help and turned back into the monster he hated, and clawed the girl’s face. She cried out, but no one dared approach a monster like Kaleb. Not even to help the pathetic girl. He started to lose his mind of anger and bit her, taking so much blood she could barely stand up. He clawed her some more and shred her to pieces, leaving only her heart untouched. Kaleb’s eyes turned back to normal and he gasped, seeing the girl in front of him dead. Then for the first time in his vampire life, he shed a tear. He stared at her with sorrowful, teary eyes and stared at her with a painful expression. Then he walked into the woods, and never returned.
