• "So, who are you going with to the dance on Friday?" asked Becky, as she and her best friend Ella walked through the over-crowded corridor. Sighing, Ella replied, "I've already told you. Friday is a full moon and you know what happens on a full moon. Besides, I don't know how to dance and no one is going to ask me anyway. Becky rolled her eyes. "I'm not so sure about that," she whispered in Ella's ear. She gestured and Ella saw that she was pointing to Zac, who was walking towards them. Rumour had it that Zac and a secret crush and every girl thought it was them!

He stopped in front of the girls and smiled. Ella glanced at her best friend and let out a small laugh. “Ella, I was wondering. Would you go to the school dance with me on Friday?” Zac looked un-easy as he spoke. Every girl in the surrounding area turned around to look at Ella. She knew the answer they wanted to hear. Taking a deep breath, she said, “I’m really sorry but I’m busy on Friday so I won’t be able to make it to the dance.” Zac looked a little depressed as every girl there sighed with relief. “Ok. I understand,” he said. Making their way around the young man, Ella and Becky walked away.

On Friday night, Becky, her date and everyone else at BlackWidge High was at the dance. That is, everyone except Ella and Zac. Pacing up and down, Ella ponder. She didn’t understand why she wasn’t a wolf yet. Deciding that it won’t happen that night, she went to the school dance.

“Becky! Where’s Zac?’ shouted Ella over the noise. “He’s not here!” she shouted back. Confused, Ella left. Walking through the dark she heard a strange noise. Heading towards the sound she saw Zac. “Ella,” he gasped. “I was going to tell you after the dance. I thought you would understand.” He took a deep breath before continuing. ‘I’m a vampire,” he said. Ella understood the position in was in at that moment. “Well, if it makes you feel any better, I also have a dark secret. I’m a…” she didn’t get a chance to finish as the light of the full moon struck her. She screamed and Zac ran to help her. “I’m a wolf,” she sobbed, trying to cop with the pain of the transformation.

Zac held Ella in his arms, trying to help her ease the pain. She looked into his eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks. He leaned foreword and kissed her. It wasn’t a normal kiss, it was a magical, romantic kiss. With that, they both floated up towards the heavens. In the blink of an eye, they both stood on the ground once more. Zac was as he said he was. A vampire. Ella, looked like a normal girl but she had snow white wolf ears and tail. She also had snow white hair and a sparkling gown. She smiled and said, “Usually, I turn into a complete wolf and I’m all grey.”

The young vampire’s hands cupped the wolf child’s face and kissed her again. Standing in the small clearing, Zac wrapped his hands around Ella’s waist and her hands and head rested on his chest. Zac placed a hand on his beloved’s head. Together they stood here. They knew they were meant to be together. Their differences didn’t matter. Vampire and wolf child. Ella didn’t care and neither did Zac. Love had brought them together and nothing could ever change that.
