    Part Three: On girls and guys


    Tommy walked up the stairs that led to the roof, he waited another hour so that Mia was settled and so hopefully would the other watchmen, he felt bad about going up seeing as it was meant only for the watchmen and Sister, but Mia had asked him to meet her up there and he knew he should do as she says.
    As he reached the top step he opened the trap door slowly and peeked out, the roof was surrounded by a barricade that was about three feet tall, at all of the corners he could see people laying down looking out from peep holes, he also noticed that they all seemed to have rifles, this made him feel uneasy, it almost felt like they were in the middle of a war, like they should be ready for a mass attack at any time. He slowly crawled out onto the roof and he shuffled his way out and slowly placed the trap door back down so he wouldn’t make a noise.
    Tommy looked around until he saw Mia, he then crawled to her.

    Mia looked back at him and smiled, well he thought she smiled; his eyes hadn’t adjusted to the light yet. He crawled up and laid down next to her,
    “Good that you could make it,” She said so quietly that he had trouble hearing her, “Just keep your voice right down; we have to be uber silent”
    “Ok,” Tommy whispered, “You wanted to talk to me?” He asked as he looked out into the forest,
    “Yeah, just wanted to continue our conversation, get to know you more and stuff,” She said as she wrote something down in the note book in front of her, Tommy looked at the other guys and noticed they were all doing the same,
    “So what do you want to know?” Tommy asked
    “So tell me about your self in more detail, I wanna know everything, if that’s ok?” She looked back at him and then back out to the forest,
    “Well, I don’t know what to say, I had a good life until my mother died, then, as I said before my father became an abusive alcoholic, nothing else nothing more, I got sick of the beatings and the belittlement and left.” He said as he rolled over onto his back to look up at the stars,
    “So did you have a girlfriend, any good at school?”
    “No, no girlfriend and I was s**t at school”
    “Oh, well your talkative now aren’t you” She joked softly,
    “Well tell me about you.” Tommy said as he turned his head to look at her,
    “Well, that’s a secret,” Mia said and her tone went from playful to depressed,
    “Oh come on, why did you run away, any boyfriends, school, anything?”
    “Why, I don’t want tot say, I don’t like talking about it and as for boyfriends and school, I left before I was really old enough to care about boys and as for school I was great.” She looked down the scope and then wrote something down.
    Not much was said for the rest of the night but Tommy stayed up there with her and ended up falling asleep on the roof.

    Tommy awoke to Mia nudging him, “Come on my shift is over, go to bed,” She whispered, “You have a long day tomorrow.”
    Tommy accepted it and crawled to the trap door followed by Mia.
    He went down the stairs and waited, as Mia made her way down the stairs she stopped and stood in front of him, he wanted to kiss her but felt that it was way too soon, he had only just met her and didn’t know anything really about her. He stopped his train of thought and then they just split up and went there separate ways without a word except goodnight.
    Tommy made his way through the barely lit hallway to his new room and then he quietly made his way in and then fell onto the bed he picked and fell asleep.

    Tommy awoke to the sight of Mia laying next to him, he felt like he had only slept a few minutes and the lack of light nailed home the point until he remembered that the windows were boarded up and that most likely the whole inside of the house probably didn’t ever get to see natural light.
    Mia smiled at him and he went to kiss her, he was still half asleep and didn’t think before he did so, she didn’t try to stop him until he got so close that he could feel her breath on his lips and then she jumped up and looked down at him.
    “Sorry,” He said after being shocked awake from her movement, “I wasn’t…”
    “Don’t worry about it. Just get up, you have to go see Conner for your work schedule” She then turned and walked out of the room.

    As Tommy made his way down to the lounge Connor, Mia, Init and Sister were sitting around a table waiting for him. Tommy sat in the chair across from them and they went over a list of skills and stuff like that so they could decide what he would be best suited for. After the conversation they ask him to go and wonder about and meet people while they discussed it and then they would call a meeting to introduce all the new members.

    An hour later Tommy was sitting at a table playing poker with a few of the other members when Mia walked up to him and told him that it was time so they all stood up and followed her to the lounge.
