• I never knew anything horrible was going to happen. Some other people from different parts of the world,Jude, and I were the only survivors. This is my story.

"Do we have to watch stars and a comet explode and fly by?" I whined. My mom threw me a look.
"Yes, you have to watch it. It's once in a lifetime chance, dear," She replied. I sighed heavily.
"You can bring, Jude," My mom countined. I looked away because she would see me blush.
She sped down the highway I came to remember. I stared out the window, watching as the city passed by and "Bleed It Out" came flowing out the radio. Jude was just a guy, no biggie...I thought and tried to calm myself down. No, Jude wasn't just a guy. He was my love of my life, the apple of my brown eyes. The beat to my music...I closed my eyes, tired from the day of hiking and fell asleep. The purr of the car became fainter as I drifted off.

I shot up straight as my mom pulled my hair gently. I rubbed my eyes and yawned.
    "Hey, sleepy head!" She said.
"I ish no sleepy-head," I yawned. I suddenly threw my hand to my mouth. Instead of saying is I said ish. I must still be tired.
"Your going to watch this one way or another. Even if i have to tie you in chains and put you in a chair," She insisted. I yawned again and settled down onto the hard, cold, wet ground. I folded my arms and pouted a bit.
When I looked around, it looked like a block party in Florida.
"Wow," was all I could manage to say. I looked up into the sky and watched a couple of stars go very bright and then go faint again.
"Look! Here it comes!" I heard a voice exclaim. I suddenly saw something huge shoot across the sky. I watched as it came closer and closer.
"Is this supposed to happen?" I asked in a high pitched voice, but I was muted againest all the screaming.
Suddenly, it felt like it was getting hotter and the night was getting brighter.
"What's happening?!?!" I screamed. I saw my mother left and I couldn't see where she was.
"What the hell is going on?!" I screamed at the top of my lungs and my throat felt like it was on fire by that.
Somebody stopped by me and looked at me like I was stupid,"The sun is coming closer to the Earth!" He yelled at me and then broke into a run again.
"Damn it!" I shouted and ran along, ran like if I was going to go away, this wasn't going to ever happen.
"Mom?!" I yelled. I knew it wasn't going to work, but it might. I kept shouting that name as I kept running away from the sun that was coming dangerously close.
The trees started to shrivel and burn up and the ground felt like smoking hot metal. Few houses started to catch fire and as I ran, some bodies became part of the ground also.
When I kept running, I felt a hand slip into my right hand and my left hand. A familiar cinamnon scent and a sweet, minty scent went around me.
    Mom and Jude were here.
"Where are we going?" Jude asked. I kept running and didn't answer. I sprinted to Wal-mart and for my luck, no one was in here expect a few sacred cashiers working.
"We need to get as many food and water as we can!" Mom called at us. She strode to get a basket and was by my side once more. We went to every part of the store getting everything we can.
Radios that work on batteries, chips, televisions that worked on batteries, water, soda, cookies, vegetebales, DVD's, CD's, viatimans, and clothes. We had to get as much as we could,I thought.
As my mom pushed the basket, Jude holding the toliet paper, and I having can openers and canned foods in my arms.
When we got out the store, there were a lot of people inside the parking lot.
It was scorching hot and all I wanted to do was take off all my clothes and run around naked.
"Come on!" Jude shouted. We all followed him to an old underground railway that was used for slavery a couple of hundreds years ago.
Jude ran down and kept going until we hit somewhere that looked like a huge cave. Water dripped down the sides and it was very humid. It felt good too.
"Let's drop things here,"My mom suggested and pointed towards a corner with her finger.
"Ok" I replied and dropped down everything I had in my arms. Jude came behind me and placed his items carefully down.
Sweat trickled down my neck as I could tell the sun was coming closer. Something glinted in the corner of my eye and I saw Jude's lovely golden hair shine in faint light.
"The sun's very close," I murmured quietly. Jude nodded and his green eyes were troubled. He pointed his nose north and I saw my mom panting. She might be a little cold.
It WAS very cold in here for a humid, quiet, lifeless cave.
"Mom?" I asked. I walked towards her, anxiety surging through me as I neared her.
"I'm ok. Just a little cold," She replied.
"Jude," I half yelled, half shouted,"Can you toss me a blanket from the pile?" He nodded and stumbled towards the pile. He threw it to my mother more than to me. She caught it quickly and wrapped herself inside it.
I sighed in relief as she fell asleep. I rubbed my eyes and Jude caught me by the waist as I fell from tiredness.
"Thanks," I mumbled embarassed. He smiled and hugged me, then put me down.
"If I have to go through this Hell with you, i'm fine by it," He whispered in my ear.
I was happy and kind of sad he said that. Happy because he was mine now, and sad because it was like Hell...

    To Be Countined...
