It felt like such a long time ago...
The darkness seemed to fade as I walked out of the abandoned guild, the sun's rays hitting my eyes so they looked like shimmering sapphires. The swords that hung from my sides were stolen from a very good friend of mine. My grey hair blew behind me as I looked up at the sky, wishing it was midnight. The huge, tattered shirt and pants that hung loosely around me seemed to shrink as I looked out onto the horizon. I was finally free from the slave-labor I had to endure.
The first step I took felt new to me. I had never been a free person before. My eyebrows raised up as I heard the familiar sounds of the forest. It seemed to be waking up right now. Overjoyed, I broke out into a run and whooped until I couldn't breath anymore. After a very long run, I took shelter under a nearby tree, making sure I was unseen by any passerbies. Little did I know, I was being followed....
