• He wondered in to the room casually, there was a bit of a chill in the room compared to the rest of the building. It was not abnormal though many of the rooms in the old inn had drafted, it didn’t bother him too much since he had just spent the last three days riding though a winter storm. Placing his bags next to a chair in a corner he let out a sigh. “Soon my love. Soon I will find you again.” he muttered softly to himself. He made his way over to the small fireplace that was set along the outside wall and started a fire to warm himself, he walked back to the bed and pulled off the comforter and returned to the fire. He sat in front of the fire staring in to it watching it crackle and pop until a sleep over took him.

A loud bang woke him from his sleep, he looked out the window and seen that the moon had risen. The sun had just begun to set when he checked in so he assumed he had slept for at least three hours. He closed his eyes again and tried to return to sleep when another bang was herd, this time it was louder and right at his door. Grudgingly he got up off the floor, the blanket still rapped around him, and made his way to the door. He barely opened it to curse who ever it was that was disturbing him when the door flew open and he was knocked to the ground.

“Milord! Your back!” a young man cried from on top of him.

“Yes I am back.” He growled “And what have I told you about calling me ‘Milord’?” he glared at the young man.

“I am sorry Dominic.” The man sat up and smiled sheepishly. “It is just that it is hard to call you by name since I was merely just a servant to you.” His smile faltered as he spoke and his voice, once loud and cheerful, took on a soft and distant tone.

Dominic let out a soft sigh “Nico, please get off me. It had been years since I have held rule over any body. I renounced my lordship after they left.” Dominic’s eyes went cold for a moment then a soft gentleness entered them as he thought of the one he loved. Nico removed him self from on top of the man and sighed. The look that entered his master’s eyes saddened him. Ever since Vivien left, Dominic’s smile had seemed to leave as well.

“Why not come back to my place?” Nico said in a slow voice not wanting to disrupt the calm that was in the air. “It is a lot warmer there then here.” Dominic shook his head He stood up from the floor and made his way back to the fire. Nico beside him and leaned against the man. “I am sorry I bothered you, but I just had to see you again.” Tears stung at Nico’s eyes at she spoke his voice clearly shaking as he tried to hold off his sadness.

Dominic felt Nico shaking and pulled the boy on to his lap and draped the blanket over both of them. As much as he hated to admit it he liked the boy no matter how annoying he got. Calmness over took Nico as Dominic held him. He didn’t dare to move in fear that if he moved he would be pushed away. Dominic leaned back against the couch that was behind them and watched the fire burn the same went for Nico. No one said a word, and the only sound herd was the soft roar of the fire and after a bit the even breathing of a sleeping Nico. Dominic looked down at the boy snuggled up on his chest then out the window. He carefully picked Nico up and moved him on to the bed and covered him with the blanket. Nico shifted with his movements but didn’t wake. HE made his way over to the window and stared out in to the distance. The storm had seamed to have passed and the sky had cleared. The small town was dead at this time of night but the small amount of light from the moon reflecting off the snow gave it a supernatural look. He turned away from the scene and shivered. There was some thing wrong and he could sense it, the faint sent of danger hung on the air.

A yawn escaped him and his eyes felt heavy. He went back to the bed where Nico lay and sat on the edge of the bed. “What is happening to this place?” he whispered ash the Nico twitched in his sleep. Some hair fell in to the young mans face and Dominic, brushed it out of his eyes. A small moan escaped Nico’s lips along with a whimper. “What has happened to you?” Dominic mused. He lay down on his side next to the boy and a sleep over took him.
