• PART 2 IF U HAVN"T READ PART 1 LOOK IT UP FIRST!

As I walked to class I wondered what was up with them. Ever since I could remember every morning had gone the same. Collin would greet me before Madeline and Miranda could start babbling. Then he’d add something rude or embarrassing about his sister and tousle her hair. Finally he’d turn and walk me to class. Had I missed something? Was I really being impolite? I sniffed my hair and arm. I certainly didn’t smell bad. Just then I caught sight of them. Alex had cornered Collin between the lockers. I ducked behind another set before he could notice I was there. “You could have blown it you big doofus!” Alex snarled at him. “I just don’t think I’m ready!” he pleaded. “You’re ready!” “Oh, yeah? What if it comes back? You know I’m stronger than you!” “I’ll protect them,” She growled. “Right like you did so well last time!” I heard her stumble back from a shove.” “See? You’re lucky I snapped out of it yesterday or we both know you’d be dead!” My face turned white. Alex being killed by Collin? Impossible. It had to be. The hallway began to flood with people. “We’ll talk later.” I wasn’t sure what he said because I was already hurrying to Algebra. I didn’t want to know.

I ended up getting to algebra three minutes early. But I went straight to the teacher and asked where to sit anyway. “Go to the third row and take a seat in the last column. “‘Kay Mr. Benson.” I followed his directions and quickly found my seat. So where was I. Oh yes, the fight scene. Janette was so confused. Who should she pick to save? How could she help Why were… “Excuse me.” Someone tapped my shoulder. “What do you...Oh, hello?” It was none other than the dreamy George Davis. All the girls in school gushed over his blonde streaked brown hair and his deep chocolate brown eyes but to me he wasn’t that much better looking than Collin or Alex. I guessed it was the fact that for some reason people naturally avoided Alex and Collin. “This is algebra right?” He asked innocently. “Yep, the worst subject of the day.” He laughed. Why was he asking me when he could have asked a much better looking girl in the now almost full room? “Yeah, I hate it too.” “Oh, I’m sorry where are my manners? I forgot to ask you you’re name!” “It’s Brooke.” “Well then very nice to meet you Brooke.” “You too.” I mumbled. I hated it when boys put up the English gentlemen act even if he was English. I turned around knowing now that the day would flow like I was in a dream state now and I probably wouldn’t hear what anyone was saying. I always got like that when boys asked me questions. He passed me a note. It read: So… what’s your favorite subject if you hate Algebra so much? Writing, I scribbled and handed the paper back below and behind me still staring at the board. He passed it back quickly. Oh so I might be speaking to the worlds next best author huh? Well then I didn’t tell you mine. Its… well you’ll think it’s funny. “No I promise I won’t,” I whispered back.” He handed me another slip. It read one word. Theater. Oh, well that’s still awesome. At least you’re not as much of a jock as I thought you were. I wrote back and passed him it. *Bring, bring* the bell rang. He laughed hard. We rose from our seats and he pushed his chair in. “Hey um... I was thinking and you know the back to school dance coming up next Sunday?” No, but I wouldn’t say that to him. Darn my constant daydreaming. I bet that’s what the girls were so enthusiastic about. “Yeah.” “Well I was wondering if you wanted to go together you know to the dance?” “That sounds great!” “Well I’ll see you later.” “Yeah see ya!” Oh. My. God! Did George Davis just ask me to back to school dance? Or am I dreaming? I think the second one’s more likely. I pinched myself. Nope first option is correct. Oh. My. Amazingly good, awesome, lucky, God! I ran straight to the lunchroom to where Madeline, Miranda, and Alex were sitting.

“GeorgeDavisjustaskedmetothebacktoschooldance!!!!” I rushed out unable to contain it. “What?” Alex asked puzzled. “Okay,” I took a deep breath. “George Davis… just…asked…me…” their eyes widened, “to… the back to school dance!” I nearly screeched. They both gave me congrats hugs as If I were graduating or something and started gossiping about it. “But you can’t tell anyone. Got it?” Alex pouted and Miranda and Madeline made puppy dogfaces. “No one I mean it!” “Fine. Way to ruin all our fun.” M&M cooed. Eager to change the subject I added, “Where’s Collin?” “He went home sick.” Alex actually sounded like she felt awful for him. “Oh.” “Did you hear about that kid who fell down the stairs Madeline?” “No Miranda I didn’t” “Well I heard he cracked his scull open and the blood pooled everywhere.” “Maybe that’s why Collin wasn’t feeling well.” I said. Collin had always felt nauseous around blood since the first day I knew him. “No I think he had a fever. He was really out of it.” “Mmhmm.” Was all I could manage. The rest of the day I worried about him, except when George winked at me from across the room in science Unfortunately the excitement quickly wore off and I was back to rushing between classes. At the end of school I caught up with Alex who was walking unusually fast on our route. I called it ‘our route’ because it was the route that Collin, Alex, and I took to get home. (They lived two blocks away from me.) “Hey do you think Collin would like me to come by to see him.” I huffed. Why was she walking this fast? Oh well I guess she just really wanted to see her brother. “No,” She stated flatly. “It’s not that he wouldn’t want you to it’s just he wouldn’t want you to get…” she searched for the right word, “sick.” “Oh I get it now.” “He’ll probably be out of school for a bit and I might be too just to take care of him so don’t worry yourself sick.” Did she read my mind? How could she know I was worried? I’m like the best person on the face of the planet that can disguise my feelings. “Well see you… soon!” she added enthusiastically. And picked up the pace so that I would have had to run to keep up. Wha… it’s beyond me I told myself. Who cares I have a lot of homework and if he won’t want to see me that’s on him! Plus there’s a full moon tonight! I kept repeating that over and over hoping I could get myself to believe it.
