• “Sure I’ll go out with you Mimi,” Nathan smiled at me, with a smile that I always went into heaven just looking at it.
It was a perfect day. I ran home, jumping for joy that he actually said “yes”. During dinner my parents saw my perky mood and asked why I was in such a mood because it was strange for them to see their quiet senior humming lyrics to a love song. When I told them I had a date tomorrow, they freaked out. My mom ran over to me and then hugged me to death saying,
    “I’m so happy for you.”
My dad just stared at me,
    “A…date? With who?”
Realizing I didn’t want to embarrass Nathan tomorrow when we were going out I said to him,
“Nathan Bereck, he’s captain of the soccer team. We’ve known each other since we were kids, dad, don’t you remember him?”
Going way back into his head, my dad pulled out the memory of Nathan,
“Oh, Nathan, yes I remember him. Okay sweetie it’s fine with me.”
After a long night of what to do and what not to do from my mom and if he does something to you, use this maneuver and run away as fast as you can from my dad, I finally changed into my pajamas and went to bed. But I was too excited for my date tomorrow and plus, it kinda felt like someone was watching me as I was lying there on my bed. I finally went to sleep around midnight to the pitter-patter of the rain.
I woke up the next day to my alarm clock buzzing at me to wake up.
“Alright, alright, I’m up, okay?” I moaned to the device.
I grabbed my hideous school uniform and walked to the bathroom to take a shower. Once I finished with my shower and changed into my uniform, I grabbed my black boots and laced them up to where they stopped at the knee. I grabbed my bag and ran out the door saying a simple “bye” to my parents. I ran to my friend Savannah’s house, where I usually met her so we could walk to school together. She was already there waiting for me. That was strange; normally I have to wait 30 minutes inside waiting for her to get up. She ran over to me saying,
“Mimi, is it true that you’re going out with Nathan?”
I was shocked, had the word gotten out already. I blushed,
    “Well…yeah.”
Savannah squealed, and then hugged me,
“Good for you Mimi, you’ve been crushing on him since you were in first grade.”
After that we talked about random things, what are teachers did yesterday, the homework we had to do, that kind of stuff. Then we finally got to our school, Eastwood Prep High, the preppiest school in the entire world. It’s full of cheerleaders, I hate them so much.
The entire day was a blur, but I’m not sure whether or not it was the fact that I was too excited about my date with Nathan or the chloroform. So, anyways, my date was amazing. We went to the park and he pushed me on the swing. It made me feel like a little kid again. After that, we just sat on the grass and talked about our lives, how we’ve change since the last time we saw each other, which was probably 5 or 6 years ago, seeing he went into sports and I stayed where I was, not doing anything special. That’s when someone came from behind us and put a rag over my mouth with chloroform. I heard Nathan screaming my name, but I couldn’t figure out why. The rest of the date goes blank after that.
