• "Alicia will be passing out the worksheets that are homework. Please be ready for tomorrow!" Mr. Starner called out to us as we hustled to get out of class and to the buses. "Hey girlie!" Marie said to me as I collected my things from my seat that was worn out from being marked on, and of old age. "Hey hun." I replied casually. Smiling, we walked down to our lockers. I put in my combination code and stuffed the stuff I didn't need into my plain dirty blue locker. Then I took out my homework assignment and slammed it shut with my elbow.

I felt a cold hand on my shoulder. I looked around and saw a boy with deep blue eyes and jet black hair. I felt myself staring. Feeling ashamed, I looked down at the tiled floor. "Hello. You wouldn't know where bus number 18 is, would you?" He asked with his voice coming off with a rich, velvety sound that soothed me. I was dumbfounded.

Talk! Talk! My thoughts screamed at me. I smiled nervously. "Uh, it's r-r-right over there." I said shaking. He put his hand on my cheek and said, "Thanks so much. By the way, my name is Evan." He took off running towards the buses, and I couldn't have wished for anything else but to see his graceful running skills skid through the hallways.

Evan. It rolled off my tongue in a lovely way whenever I said it. Just Evan. I saw myself sitting with him under a tree in a beach. We were hold each others hands. Suddenly my fantasy turned into a nightmare. He hissed and screeched and turned into a horrible monster with fangs dripping a red liquid. In my nightmare I was limp in his hands, pale white with petals on me.

"Kylie! Hello?! We're gonna miss our bus!" Marie yelled at me. I shook myself out of my nightmare and we both took off running towards our bus. We ran and jumped onto the stairs right when it started moving. Ms. Holler laughed at us. "Good thing I wait for you." She said with a half smile. Suddenly I noticed something. My bus was bus 18. Would he be here?

"Hello again." Evan said to me with surprise in his voice. "Yeah! I forgot..." I squeaked. "I never got your name." He said to me in a purring voice. "It's Kylie." I said confidently. "Don't be scared, Kylie. Your nightmare will end soon." He hissed at me when I walked past him. I stopped and jerked around. I saw him smile with a little teeth showing. Fangs that were dripping red liquid. My eyes were wide open. Then, everything went black.

When I saw him, the image I thought of at school rushed back to me. But most of it became reality. Red eyes glowing with hatred and fangs. Huge fangs dripping with red. I didn't want to know what the liquid was, even though I knew what it was. I was still on the bus. But I was in Evan's seat with him.

"Are you okay, Kylie?" He asked in concern. "Yeah. What happened?" I asked. "Oh, you just fainted all of a sudden." He replied sitting towards me. He chuckled remembering the thought. I glared at him. Coming forward to my face, he whispered to me, "I'm getting off of your stop. But don't be scared. I have a little mission to take care of."

His breath smelt like peppermints. The bus screeched to a stop at my bus stop. We both climbed out of the seat. He followed me quickly out of the door. At the bench, he sat. I kept walking him but I was watching him out of the corner of my eye.

The bus left the street where you couldn't see it anymore. Evan jumped up and he was gone. I looked around I found him next to me. I fell down in fright. Evan boosted me up into his arms and didn't let go. "Don't yell. It will be over quickly." He said as he started moving through the streets like a cheetah, only he was faster. I felt sick when he ran. But soon I started seeing trees that were in the forest 28 miles away from my house.

"Where are you taking me?!" I screamed at Evan. He didn't answer, but kept running. Soon we came to a small shelter that was hidden. He gently put me down in it, and tied my hands and feet together with tape over my mouth. I started to weep. But I couldn't have any sound out of my mouth. Tears were dripping over my face. He couldn't stand it anymore. He ripped off the tape.

I cried out in pain. Tears came faster and weeping turned to sobbing. "I'm so sorry. I have to do this." He said in a desperate voice. "You are in danger. I'm trying to protect you. I was sent to kill you, but how can I?!" He said in a frightened tone. "Please. Stop crying." He whispered in a pained voice. He then kissed me passionately on the lips. Then we couldn't stop. He untied my hands and legs. "I won't ever let you be killed by my people." He whispered in my ear.
