• "Faster, must go faster" The cold wind whipped across her Elvin face. She had run through several forests, all filled with prickly thorns and rough bushes. A meadow flashed by as she ran quicker than a deer. She headed toward another forest. Ranbeon Forest. It was where all the wolves and fearsome creatures lived. Hoping they wouldn’t follow her, she fled into the thick brush. She pushed long vines aside, and when she wasn’t paying attention, tripped over a small boulder. Putting her hands out to catch her fall, she felt her wrist snap. She cried out in pain, then got back on her feet and took off. Now she stood on the edge of the cliff. Running from them was over. They were almost there now. She had no choice. Waiting until the last minute, she took a quick breath, sure it would be her last, and jumped. The last thing she felt was the wind pushing up around her and the thick mist of the great waterfall. SMACK! Unconscious, her body drifted down the river. The object she had been gripping to drifted away from her injured and uncurled hand. It sunk to the bottom of the river within seconds.
The hunters’ leader looked over the waterfall. " She's dead!" He cried. His men cheered at the image. All would be well, for now.

Cracking open her eyes, she stared into the gleaming light hanging over her. Light? She tried to sit up, but the screamed in pain. Sitting up very slowly and carefully, she checked herself. Hmm. Two broken ribs, a pulled stomach muscle, and a sprained shoulder. How she knew this was a mystery. At this thought she tried to remember. Nothing. Everything felt wrong. Like she shouldn’t be there.
She slowly got to her feet. She checked the rest of herself and found only a couple more bruises and a major headache. She walked towards the forest and hoped to find a nearby village. Walking killed her, but nature would most likely do worse.
It wasn’t long until she came upon a small village. It was filled with small cottages. She went as fast as she dared towards the nearest. Just knocking on the door made her side split. Right when the door opened she collapsed. The kind person caught her and pulled her inside. He must have seen her coming up. The look on his face told her she that he new something. He laid her on the bed and she fell into a deep sleep.

“Hello?” A kind voice asked. She sat up immediately, worried of something though she didn’t know what.
“Whoa there. You’re not completely healed yet.”
    “W-where am I?”
“Oh yes. You’re in the village of Llysteria. My name is Llyan. My grandfather owns the village.” He grinned down at her. She sat up cautiously.
“So do you know what happened to me? I can’t remember anything.”
“Oh I some ideas.” He grinned again. ”Would you like to know?” She nodded, and then winced. “Well, it looks like you jumped off a waterfall. But how likely is that? It’s more likely that someone attacked you.” He paused for a moment. “Do you remember anything?”
“No.” She ran her mind over her brain. Nothing. Tears started falling down her face.
“Don’t cry!” Llyan sat down by her. “I have a clue for you. You’re not human.”
“WHAT?” She was torn. Not human? How was that possible? “How’s that?” “Well, for one.” He pointed out. “You have pale green skin, you have pointed ears, you heal amazingly fast, you have a constant temperature, and your body is perfectly shaped and muscled.” His faced turn pink at the last statement. “I’d say you’re an elf, but that’s crazy. Elves never come hear.”
Taking this in she sighed. So she was an elf. Great, humans will all hate me. She started to say something, but noticed Llyan had left. He probably went to go tell everyone there was an elf here.
    He returned suddenly carrying something.
“I thought you’d be hungry. Here’s some stew.” She took a sip, and spit it out.
“What is in it?” She questioned.
“Uh, oh.” He said quietly. “Maybe you are an elf. They hate meat.”
“Oh,” Was all she could muster. She was weak and tired. Laying back down she fell asleep instantly.

When she woke up, Llyan was at her side. She quickly racked her brain for any clue of who she was, but only remember the last day. There was a prickling feeling on her forehead. Putting her fingertips to her skull, she winced and looked up, her face full of questions.
“When you came here,” he answered her look. “You forehead was ripped of skin. It looks like you hit a jagged rock.” At this she winced once more. She then noticed he was holding something.
“Here’s some stew, meatless.” He handed her the bowl. “Someone came to me in a dream last night. Like magic, he said your name was Arianna. Then he left.”
Arianne sighed. At least she new two things, she was an elf named Arianne.
“How do you know the person was real?” She asked.
“I don’t really know,” he confessed. “I just had this feeling. And I’m going to trust it.”
Arianna sighed. It wasn’t that Llyan wasn’t nice, but she felt, once again, that he was hiding the truth. He knew something that she didn’t. She quickly drank up the soup with a small wooden spoon. It had a name on it. As she was studying this unique object, Llyan returned with a worried look on his face. He walked to the back wall and muttered something. To Arianna’s surprise, the wall opened up.
“Get in,” he said sharply. Arianna obeyed even though she didn’t know what he had in mind. “Stay hidden.” He left and the door closed.
“Open up, Llyan!” An angry voice cried from the front door. “We know you’re in there!”
000“I’m coming! I’m coming! What happened to knocking?” The door creaked open. Arianna tensed up at the tension in his deep voice.
“Hello Llyan. Sorry to bother you,” the voice was filled with sarcasm. “We have heard, that a certain someone, was suppose to be killed. But apparently, she got away. We’re going to every village in the surrounding area to make sure no ones hiding her.” He paused and looked around. “Since you’ve been prophesized, we decided to thoroughly check your home.” Arianna heard a gasp. It was probably Llyan’s. “Oh, yes we heard you didn’t know. But we didn’t know your grandfather was that stupid.”
“How dare you talk about grandpa like that!” Llyan screamed. . She could here fists fly, there was a load crash and the sound of broken glass.
“Goodnight, Llyan. As soon as we find her here.” A couple of men chuckled.
