• The Girl:

I sadly sipped my hot chocolate as Luke and I waited in his car for my mom to arrive. The thought of Mason with some other girl drove me insane. It made everything on my body hurt, and my mind cry out for some relief. But nothing seemed to calm me down, not even Starbucks.

    "Taylor--" Joel began.
"You knew." I snapped. He looked back out the window and sighed. "Joel, you knew where Mason was, and who he was with. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I tried . But you never listen. You have never taken the advice of other people and look where that has gotten you! Yes, I knew Mason was with Lea. I was outside smoking when they came out; Mason asked where you were. He knew that what he was doing was wrong. I was only trying to protect you and him."
"Her name's Lea ?" The venom in my voice was deadly as I turned to look at Luke while my eyes burned green with envy.

"There you go again." He mumbled.

    "WHAT! I asked a question."
"You didn't even take into an account that you don't listen, you're stubborn, and you don't know what you want. You may think you and Mason are complete opposites; when really, you two are exactly alike. If you want to be with him, you have to change too, Tay."
"But I have straight A's, honor society, never smoked, never drank, and my fricking v-card (virginity)."
"So? That doesn't make you a good person, just a moral one. You have to give up what you want Mason to give up."

I sat there in serenading silence. The only sound that I could clearly hear was my heart racing; for the sad truth was: Joel was right.

" You're right." I said barely above a whisper. Joel took my hand and held it. He comforted me and made sure I was going to be okay.

    The Boy:

The horrible reality set in as I watched whatever was on T.V. I had lead Lea on; I had hurt Taylor. But she couldn't be too upset. I mean she went to homecoming with Caleb; I was never that serious about Lea. I had only done what Taylor had done.

But then again, maybe I could have waited. This night...I saw in Taylor's eyes that she was still mine. Not Caleb's.

I knew what I had to do to get Taylor. I picked up the phone and dialed in her number as I had before many times.

    "Hello?" she answered.
    "Hey, babe." I responded.
"Hi. Did you just get home?"
"Yeah. Did you have fun tonight?"
"Of course!" Her answered surprised me. Taylor was never one to be calm about things; she was quite the drama queen.

    "That's good." I said in a daze.
    "Yeah, you?"
"I always have fun at shows. How are you and Caleb?"
    "I'm done with him."

My heart just stopped. I tried to comprehend what she had just said.

"When did you decide that?" I whispered.
    "Oh, last night."

My heart broke into two. She had given up on Caleb before she came to the show. I'm such an idiot.

"Oh...I-I didn't know." I said with confusion in my voice.
    "Yeah. It was quite sudden."
    "So who do you like--"
"You. But hey, you like that Lea girl, which I understand. You and she are much more alike."
    "I-I-I like you...t-too."
"Hah, yeah. I'm really tired of being second."
    "I never said you were--"
"That's what it feels like. If I can't have you to myself, then I don't want you."

There was a loud silence. My head was spinning. I was going to lose her again if I didn't do anything!

"Why don't you come over next weekend?" I quickly asked.
"Sure. Sounds fun. Well, Im going to go to bed. Night!"
    "Taylor, I love you."
"Mason...I never stopped loving you." Click

    The Girl;

I put my phone on the charger and was about to fall asleep until it rang.
"Who the hell calls at 2 AM." I muttered as I looked at the caller ID. "Caleb!" I gasped.

    "Hello?" I yawned.
"Taylor," he squeaked out. "I-I miss you."
    "Um, I miss you too?"
"No...I had the weirdest dream...that I came to your wedding...and you married some other guy and told me you didn't know who I was."
"Uh...that is odd seeing that I'm sixteen and don't plan on marrying soon."
"The point is, I saw your myspace pictures tonight and saw you with that Mason guy...I think you like him."
    "I do."
"B-b-ut, I just wanted you to wait for me!"
"For how long, Caleb? How long!"
"Until I could be a good boyfriend for you! But I guess in the end I was right! I will never be good enough for you."
"That is not true. You lead me on for 3 months! You destroyed me! You had every chance!"
"But I just...I thought I liked Abbey! But now I realize, I love you!"
"You can't come back because you can't have me."
"Please, Taylor. I can't sleep. I've been crying. My eyes are blood shot. I miss hearing your voice and seeing your face! Please, give me another chance! Please!" His hysteric cries broke my heart.

Tears were beginning to stream down my face too.
Maybe I didn't know for sure what I wanted yet.
