****(Tears)
“What the-” Libra turned from her equipment, and Light drew a katana from somewhere.
“Alex? Raphael?”
“What the ******** have you done?” I stormed over to Libra. “ANSWER ME!”
“Alex...”
“I think someone had better answer him.” Raphael faced off to Light, arms wide. He was using his powers – I could feel the air heat up. “Please?” Light crumpled, dropping the sword. Heh, it worked on her. I, meanwhile, had pushed past Libra, and into the main arena. I had to be careful, dodging each wave of energy. I was hit once, and seriously injured. Thankfully, my healing ability was a lot better than before. I made my way to her, and put my arms around her. The energy emissions stopped as I removed the artificial units forcefully. Her skin was seeping blood from its pores where the energy emission damaged everything... This brought back painful memories. I was crying... forceful removal... also damages the nervous system beyond repair, even for her. She opened her eyes to look at me. She was also crying. I put her down on the floor – my emotions made me incapable of holding her. This was how... this was exactly how my Mum died...
“Ri-chan... thank you...” I think she tried to reach for my face, but her hand just twitched slightly. I took her hand in mine and held it to my face. Her body wasn’t responding to anything – her powers were also weak... “Everything’s going numb... it’s going... I give it... not long...”
“Mi-chan...” She smiled at me. I think she knew what was going through my mind, and I held her limp body close. I put my hand behind her head and kissed her on the cheek. I could see that she had to make effort to breathe now...
“Thank you... and... I... love... you... you know... that... right?”
“I know, Mi-chan...” Her breathing slowed, and she shut her eyes. “I could love no one else...” She smiled for the last time as I felt her heart stop. I held her closer to me. “Forever and always...” I couldn’t do anything but cry... Someone rip my heart out! If my heart stopped beating, would it hurt like this?
***(Action)
“Time to act, methinks.” The shadow to my right nodded, and the shadow to my left murmured. We had remained unnoticed in the dark corner of the arena, biding our time. “I do believe our action is covered by it...” The form to my left nodded.
“Yes...” She sighed. “I did comfort her all I could during that – I did apologise...”
“Yes... I heard. Not long now...” I made a complex hand signal, and we vanished – off to do our work.
***(Revelations)
He didn’t move. He didn’t let go of her. I had even stopped the lift from working while he sat there with Mirari-chama in his arms. Light had passed out after I had used my charms on her. I think it was too much. Libra was firmly out of my reach, in terms of my powers. She was firmly lesbian. Must’ve been so for years... But she’s one damn hot O.A.P! hehehe... Mod Units made her look younger. She was standing there with a distinctly annoyed look on her face.
“Damn Alex... sticking his influence in...”
“And Mirari-chama was dying. You had no control.” I drew closer to the old woman. “You’re lucky Alex was here, actually. He has so much experience...” She shook her head.
“No, this project was never done by ETHER....”
“You are wrong, old lady.” Libra flushed, but didn’t say anything. “That was how HaKura died.”
“HaKura was... assassinated. That’s what-”
“Alex told you that?” I shook my head. “Alex had to do that to his Mother.” I looked to Alex. Now, he was rocking back and forth, clutching Mirari-chama, sobbing occasionally. “HaKura died in the same way as Mirari-chama...” I noticed something moving in the shadows to my left. Was that a hand moving? Waving? Then, my sword did something odd. It moved, shifted into Ren’s form. Not a clone form, but Ren. Libra looked on, wide-eyed as Ren put one finger to my lips.
“Hush.” Libra looked like she needed a change in underwear, and passed out. I could see that the people in the viewing galleries were getting panicked. Sinistra, Dextera and Kat were the only ones still watching. And they weren’t watching for long – they passed through the glass like it was water, manipulating the air to land gently on the floor. Kat has certainly got better at the air manipulation. They ran over to me, skirting around Alex. Kat pointed behind me.
“Raphael, did you see the shadows?”
“Yes, I did, Kat.” I looked over to Alex, who was rocking back and forth still. But it wasn’t that I was concerned about – oh no, it was the fact that Alex’s Mithrim was moving – as were the Repa Units. Half of his Mithrim darted away, shifting into Athe’s form. Ren then left me to join her sister next to Alex. They were reluctant to speak. They gathered the six discarded Repa Units and put them all together. Everyone was surprised when a shadow drifted from Mirari-chama to their hands. Kat was awestruck - Sinistra and Dextera were wide-eyed. Libra and Light began to stir, and looked on in wonder. So imagine what they were thinking when a voice came from Ren and Athe’s hands...
“Be still when you hear the voice of God, Lest your soul be taken...” Ren and Athe smiled and stepped away. Where the units were, there was a golden ball. It’s surface moved, changing continuously into complex patterns and symbols. “If your soul is taken away...” The golden ball began to morph into a humanoid form. “...You will never awaken.” The form was complete. The new person was a young lady with floor-length brown hair and glittering light green eyes. She was... perfect. No other words for it. Her figure was immaculate, and her skin almost glowed. She had cat ears. Wha-? She smiled almost mischievously. She was so not human it literally hurt to look at her. Everyone’s jaw dropped, except for Alex, who was still rocking back and forth. He was sobbing more, now. The new arrival bent down and gently touched Alex’s shoulder. Her golden armour, although revealing and looking solid, moved like her own skin. I couldn’t help but look at the... perfection.
“I don’t think he’ll let go of her, Miscenco.” Miscenco? That was Miscenco? The goddess herself... She murmured an agreement.
“He won’t, will he?” She stood up again. “Ren, Athe... I do believe that we have work to do.” She then shut her eyes in thought...
***(Isolation)
I was standing on a patch of dirt in the middle of endless water. It was so bare... Everywhere I looked, there was nothing but water, blue stuff I thought was sky, and the little bit of grey stuff I stood on. I was logged in, wearing my Mithrim.
“Hello?” The sound of my voice echoed around. Echo. That means there’s a wall or hard surface here somewhere... but I don’t see it. I kept shouting around, trying to determine where the wall was. I was quite surprised to find that the walls were all around. Even above me. I peered into the water. It was blue and flat, but there was nothing to suggest its depth. I poked the water. It wasn’t water as I knew it – I don’t think water acts like custard. I gingerly tested one foot on the water-custard. I could stand on the water, but not for too long. I wandered about. No matter how far I walked, I ended up back at the patch of dirt. I sat down. “Useless...” I then stopped, and began to think.
Wait... I thought I died?
