• Zach’s POV

Vampires like me only needed two hours of sleep. I guess you could sleep for more time then that, but most try and avoid sleep. Some are haunted by their past while they sleep, and some aren’t. It all depends on how much you really care about your wrongs. Many vampires are “tortured” by their past, but not me. I’ve got no regrets about what I’ve done. I’m perfectly fine.

I watched her as she fell asleep. She seemed quite peaceful, like she had no care in the world. I bet she dreamed wonderful dreams too. God I wish I could dream, Instead of just going into pure darkness.

“Wait, what the hell am I thinking? This girl is not worth my time. I need to leave here, it’s not like she’ll die if I don’t stay by her side 24/7. She’s old enough to take care of her self. She doesn’t need me, and I certainly don’t need her.” I said to myself.

“Um... I’m going to leave now… Peace, I guess.” I said awkwardly as I walked out of the dingy room and down the dark hospital hallway strolling with my utility cart when I walked past the old people that smelled strongly like death, along with children too. Life is short for these mere humans, I almost felt bad for them for a second. But then again, they drop like flies.

All of a sudden I could sense another vampire in my midst that happened to be familiar. They were close to the blood bank in the east lower wing of the hospital. They came at an opportune time due to the fact that no one is working down there. I got down there quickly because I knew he wouldn’t stay for long, and I wanted to see who exactly he was.

Perhaps this was my dearest cousin Parker come to pay me a visit. I knew he would never lower himself to get human blood from a blood bank, He claimed he had too much class for that. He, Like I at one point; enjoyed fresh blood. It’s sort of like fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning.

As I drew closer to the bank I realized that this vampire was not Parker, but my old time friend Antonio. eek
